Thursday Spin Class (seasonal)

Stationary bike training sessions begin Thursday, November 5, 2009, at SDBC sponsor Fitness West. We’re meeting every Thursday night (except Christmas and New Years) through the end of March, when Daylight Savings Time returns. SDBC members can also get in a weight training session before or after the stationary bike workout. There is no charge for this class but each SDBC member will be asked to sign in at the start of each session. The spin sessions are led by SDBC member Mike Abell.

You can bring your own bike and stationary trainer or rollers, or you can use one of Fitness West’s spinner bikes. Fitness West has 21 Schwinn Evolution spinners, so there should be more than enough bikes available. Some spinner bikes have platform pedals with toe clips and straps, some have SPD pedals, and some have Look Delta-style pedals.

Fitness West’s owner is SDBC member Peter Dufour. Peter has some special deals for SDBC members: SDBC members may join Fitness West at $29.00 per month, with no enrollment fee or contract. Membership is month to month and can be cancelled anytime. SDBC members can participate in the stationary bike sessions and weight training sessions on Thursdays without becoming a Fitness West member. However, membership would allow you to use all club facilities, including cardio machines, weight training equipment, and all classes which include 8 cycling classes per week.
