A Note from the Velodrome Director |
Attention velodrome racers or anyone interested in the velodrome: the season is approaching and I have spoken to Dave at UC Cyclery about a deal on track bikes. SDBC members already get a 10% discount, but he said that if we can get a commitment on a number of track bikes to order there is more room to discount and the process is easier than one at a time. Contact me and let me know if you are interested in a track bike, and we can get with Dave to start the process in time for track classes and the racing season.
Also, if interested in joining the SDVA SDBC members get a 50% discount. Let me know and I will email you a waiver and the contact info for the SDVA .

A Note From The Bike Coalition Liaison |
New Bike Coalition Website
Remember, SDBC membership includes membership in the San Diego County Bike Coalition which includes a number of benefits. The Bike Coalition is changing its logo, website and other materials to reflect that most people refer to it as "the bike coalition" rather than SDCBC. This is particularly good for SDBC because SDBC and SDCBC can get confused. So, the new coalition website is at http://sdbikecoalition.org. Check it out!

2015 Free Bicycle Traffic Skills Course |
Are you a "D" rider? An "A" rider? Or between the two? This free course should be taken by everyone who rides a bike on public streets. Everyone! This course could save your life.
My wife Beth and I have been riding and racing with SDBC for 21 years and took this course a few months ago. We feel safer riding on the road and learned the most current rules of the road. This course is well worth a few hours of your time.
Taught by our local cycling hero Pete Penseyres (former record holder of RAAM) and the Oceanside bicycle coordinator Howard LaGrange.
