Do you shop at Amazon.com? If so, it' easy for you to help SDBC receive donations from Amazon to SDBC. Just use the “Amazon Smile” charitable process in your account. Amazon Smile funnels a small percentage of their eligible purchase revenue to SDBC if you activate Amazon Smile in your account and choose “San Diego Bicycle Club” as the beneficiary nonprofit.
Instead of logging in through "amazon.com" you log-in through “smile.amazon.com.” Very easy to use. It is EXACTLY the same shopping experience. Nothing changes except SDBC receives contributions from Amazon. |

BIG THANK YOU TO JOSHUA BONNICI and Bonnici Law Group |
|
Did you know that one of our own team racers is a huge philanthropist and supporter of cycling in San Diego? Not only is he a board member for the San Diego Mountain Biking Association, but he is an avid road and track racer!
Josh and Bonnici Law Group donated $150 to last weekends Cyclocross Race, and indeed it seems there is not one cycling discipline he is not dedicated to promoting - especially the junior racers.
At one time in U.S. History Velodrome bicycle racing was the most popular sport in the country. To keep this sport from fading, we decided to focus on Juniors and to not only give them the best instruction and coaching but to make sure they had fun and would make cycling a life long sport (As shown by our multiple Southern California Juniors State and National Champions! Did you know that World Champion and Olympic Track racer Jennifer Valente started in San Diego?)
Dale Hughes is taking it to the next level with a racing series he has put on at Lexus Velodrome in Detroit. It is the closest thing in the U.S. that you will get to a Six Day Race. The reason we are fundraising is to help defray family expenses to send San Diego Juniors to Detroit to race. Any SCNCA junior may apply to participate in this race event - just send an email to Len Lochmiller (below).
Our San Diego juniors made us proud with the work they did at the Velodrome swap-meet by baking and selling - they are totally committed to the training and fund-raising work!
If you are so inclined, you may donate to help make this happen for our San Diego junior track racers. Please visit the webpage https://www.sdvelodrome.com/donate. On the donate page for Paypal, please use the dropdown menu to earmark your contribution for "Juniors Development", you can even send a note of best wished to the kids there! The SDVA is a 501c3 charitable foundation.
Joshua Bonnici has graciously made a pledge to match any donation up to $750. If you have questions or can make a match, just like Josh, please contact Len Lochmiller at len@sdvelodrome.com
Very gratefully,
Pat Murray |

Torrey Pines High
School (TPHS)
Mountain Bike Club |
|
SDBC Juniors are welcome to join Torrey Pines High School (TPHS) Mountain Bike Club for practices.
Head Coach Derek Steiner has graciously invited our Juniors to come train with the Mountain Bike Club. Coach Steiner is a SDBC member and the father of Women's Team Racer Mckenzie Steiner. Mckenzie is now racing for the Air Force Academy. The SDBC junior mountain bike ride will be open to all riders, but to participate each rider will have to fill out a release form.
Practices are continuing though Nov 26

The High School Mountain Bike Club invites riders from all other High Schools in the area. The ride leaves from the parking area at the intersection of 56 and Carmel Valley Road. All ability levels are welcome. But all riders must fill out a release before participating (minors require parent signature). Riders younger than 13 should have a parent come along for the ride. Depending on who shows up, there will be an A and B ride.
The A ride is fast and will may not wait for dropped riders It is for older more experienced kids. There will be a fixed route, but no support for the A riders, a buddy system is highly encouraged.
Coach Derek will lead the B ride. It is no-drop, so there may be more waiting. The focus of the B ride will be mountain biking technique and fun.
For more information, please contact Coach Derek Steiner at Dereksteiner@outlook.com.
