Do you shop at Amazon.com? If so, it' easy for you to help SDBC receive donations from Amazon to SDBC. Just use the “Amazon Smile” charitable process in your account. Amazon Smile funnels a small percentage of their eligible purchase revenue to SDBC if you activate Amazon Smile in your account and choose “San Diego Bicycle Club” as the beneficiary nonprofit.
Instead of logging in through "amazon.com" you log-in through “smile.amazon.com.” Very easy to use. It is EXACTLY the same shopping experience. Nothing changes except SDBC receives contributions from Amazon. |

32nd Annual SDBC Light Up A Life Holiday Toy Ride |
The 32nd annual SDBC Light Up A Life Holiday Toy Ride this past Saturday was a big success. Over 250 cyclists from all over San Diego County, including members of several other clubs, rode from UCC to the Joan Kroc Salvation Army Center, delivering a significant number of toys along with nonperishable food, and some cash dropped in the kettle.
Ralph Elliot provided music and announcing at the start to get everyone into the holiday spirit. There were contests for best costumed riders with gift certificates given to the winners. Santa Bill Riggs led the moderately-paced ride assisted by SDBC Ride Leaders and a few other members who held intersections to allow the entire group to stay together. There were no major incidents, just a few flats, and some riders caught out unintentionally off the back.
We enjoyed food and drinks provided by the Salvation Army, and a good time was had by all.
Many thanks for the success of the event are due to Bill, Ralph, Marilyn for driving a carload of toys, Richard Lee for all the photos, and your SDBC Ride Leaders!
Hope to see everyone again next year!
